Buying

In general, you have two options when buying an auction item. First, you can bid on the item and wait until the end of the auction to see if yours was the winning bid. Alternately, if the seller has activated the Instant Purchase feature, you can immediately purchase the item at the seller’s Instant Purchase price.

Guidelines

  • To be able to bid on an auction item, you must first become a registered user of our system.
  • It is highly recommended that you read over all sale, payment, and shipping terms and conditions before you place your bid.
  • You may not be able to return certain items. Review the seller’s terms before placing bids.
  • By bidding, you are legally bound to complete the purchase if you become the winning bidder.
  • Depending on the system's setting, you may not be able to retract a bid once it has been placed.
  • If you are the winning bidder, you should immediately contact the seller to arrange for payment and delivery of the item.
  • You should always leave feedback on the seller after completing a transaction. Doing so lets other users know what to expect from the seller, whether positive or negative.

Steps

  1. Browse through our auction categories, or search for an item until you locate the item you want to purchase.
  2. Instant Purchase: If applicable, you can choose to bypass the auction and make an immediate purchase.
    • Locate the Instant Purchase button, on the left side of the auction description and click on it.
    • Review the seller’s previous feedback.
    • Enter your username and password, and then click on the Buy Item button to complete the purchase.
  3. Bid: In most cases, you will simply bid on an item.
    • Click on the Bid on Item button, or scroll to the bidding form near the bottom of the description page.
    • Enter your maximum bid, username, and password.
      Note: All bids are "proxy" bids. Thus, the dollar amount you enter should be the maximum bid you would be willing to pay for the item. As others bid on the same item, your bid will be automatically incremented upwards until your maximum bid has been reached.
    • Click on the Review Bid button.
    • Review your bid details, and if correct, click on the Place Bid button. Otherwise, hit your browser’s Back button to make corrections.
